I Like The Butterfly Outdoor Playback Rollaway Because…
Butterfly table tennis tables have always been known for its sturdiness and built quality. Unlike indoor tables that use wood or composite wood, the tabletop of the Butterfly TW24B has a laminate construction which makes it an “outdoor table” able to stand up against the blazing sun or the worst storm. While this is so, I would definitely still recommend buying a cover for this to keep the table clean from dust and dirt.
I personally like assembling furniture so I enjoyed getting this table in a box and getting my hands dirty with nuts and bolts. Only basic tools are needed for assembly which I had in my tool box at home. However, if you’re not the handy man type of person, you’ll need to buy or borrow a 10mm socket set and 10mm wrenches for the job. A metric ratchet set would also work.
By the way, if you find you have extra parts after assembly, don’t worry! I’ve studied the diagram several times and I’m 99.9% sure I assembled the table correctly. After assembly, I have a good amount of spare parts left over. I guess Butterfly wanted to make sure you had extra parts?
Complaints About the Butterfly TW24B
While assembling the table is straight forward, the total assembly time is around 2-3 hours. The assembly instruction manual could be more descriptive as at the moment it is full of diagrams that need a little deciphering. Besides this, just make sure you keep track of the length of each screw (there are 40mm, 45mm and 50mm lengths) making sure you use the correct length in the correct locations. Another thing to look out for is whether a simple nut or a nylon locking nut is called for in the instructions. Mixing those up may cause the table to disassemble itself, so be careful! You don’t want to spend unnecessary time rebuilding the table after finding out you did something wrong.

Like I’ve stated on the homepage of this website, outdoor tables are great for outdoors use, however, if you had the choice to leave the table inside, I would choose a table with a real wood or composite wood tabletop.
